A worthwhile hobby for everyone

Germander Cottage Crafts is about accessible, fun designs that you should want to wear. Tired of scrolling through patterns that just wouldn’t suit, Hanna set out to start designing fun garments and accessories that she would be proud to wear. A former teacher, Hanna took to pattern design with a mindset of making complicated things simpler to understand. That’s why you’ll find that the basic cuff down socks and simple two needle socks are so straightforward: it doesn’t have to be complicated!

Knitting and crochet are proven to relax and calm the mind. You can also knit and crochet almost anywhere. Whether you’re looking for something to occupy your hands when watching a film or finding you have a long wait at an appointment, you’ll find that having a hobby that involves yarn, needles and hooks can keep you busy for hours!

Germander Cottage Crafts was founded in LIverpool by Hanna Gough, a knitwear and crochet designer.

Over the last 10 years I’ve been on an amazing journey with knitting and crochet. I learned to do both at the same time, so I couldn’t possibly choose a favourite! Over that time I learned to design my own patterns and enjoyed teaching others. If you’re subscribed to my newsletter, I’m sharing the latest tutorials as well as some free knitting and crochet patterns.
