The jewel hat is a cute, quick stash busting hat with a knitted rib brim and a crochet body. Sizes included are 12 months to adult large. The crochet stitches work wonderfully with variegated yarn and create clusters of jewel-like shapes but you can use any worsted/aran yarn you like.
The measurements given are for a slightly slouchy beanie. If you would prefer a more exaggerated slouch, go ahead and add to the length of the body before decreases.
Crochet terms used are US terms.
Materials
50g (75g, 100g, 125g, 150g) of worsted yarn. Yarn used in the sample is Cygnet Boho Spirit (adult size pictured) and Manos Del Uruguay Silk Blend DK in Jamboree (child size pictured) ,135m (148 yards) per 50g hank. 70% merino/30% silk.
Main image shows the medium adult size and uses 1 ball of Cygnet Boho Spirit in Chic (Available from the website).
3.75mm needles, either DPN or 80cm circular for magic loop.
4.5mm crochet hook.
Gauge: 1x1 rib 6 sts per 1in 2.5cm
Sizes:
12 months- 3 years: To fit head size 19 inches/48cm.
3-10 years: To fit head size 20 inches/51cm
Small adult: 21 inches/ 53cm
Medium adult: 22 in/55cm
Large adult. 24 in/60cm
