Beginner sock knitting patterns.
These patterns have been marked safe for beginners! Knit them flat or in the round with step by step instructions and photos. If you love the idea of using pretty hand-dyed yarns, socks are the perfect thing to knit.
The easy two needle socks pattern is my most visited free knitting pattern, and you’ll see why. I make sock knitting easy to break down and understand. Start with flat, and you’ll develop the confidence to progress to knitting socks in the round!
This is the free pattern for the DK boot socks. If you have some DK weight yarn to hand and you’re short on time or need a quick, satisfying project, try this pattern! These socks are so fast and satisfying that they make excellent last minute gifts.
This is the first sock pattern I ever published! It’s a simple design for a pair of 4ply (fingering weight) socks knit from the cuff down. In this pattern I show you how to construct a basic sock with a ribbed cuff, square heel and grafted toe.
Intermediate sock knitting patterns.
Knit the stunning flock socks with a fancy skein of yarn. I used Oakworth 4ply from Eden Cottage yarns. These socks are textured, so choose a material that is crisp and will stand out. I used 100% wool for mine.
Andalusian stitch socks are also textured, but with a simple rib design. These socks work well with 4ply yarn and look more complex than they are.
Novelty sock knitting patterns.
